I just left the home of Marian who hired me  to help her feel better prepared for life’s unexpected. I worked with Marian on her earthquake emergency preparation because she lives within the Rocky Mountain’s fault line in Utah. We finished up readying her 3 month consumable food supply and 72 hour emergency kits. We are now working on her ‘Vital Documents Grab & Go Binder’. She is already feeling much better prepared.

The following are recommendations made by FEMA – The USA’s Federal Emergency Management Agency which oversees accountability for emergency preparedness including earthquake emergency preparation in the USA. (The tips in parenthesis belong to me.)

_ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _

  • If you are asked to evacuate, do so quickly. (Before you leave, grab your Grab and Go Binder Kit which includes your identifying documents and other needed personal and family records.)
  • Wear protective clothing and sturdy shoes. (This means no flip-flops!)
  • Take your emergency (72 hour) kit and a 3 day supply of medications.
  • Lock all doors and windows.
  • Turn off all appliances.
  • Extinguish all candles.
  • Leave a note (on the wall in permanent marker near the exit door) telling others where you have gone and who is with you.
  • Go to your appointed emergency evacuation center and check in with the person in charge. (Call your city neighborhood chair to find out where YOUR assigned center is located.)

You may be given a few minutes to gather some items. Make a list NOW of the items you feel are most important for you to bring with you in order of priority. Purchase this great Vital Records Binder Kit which includes the 32 forms and 8 category dividers through PayPal, OR contact Vicki to send a check and your address so she can get your Binder Kit in the mail today.

Price: $45.00
