Organized Weather

Even Nature’s weather is organized in my corner of the world. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. Then to maintain order, it begins all over again.

Outside my office window the snow is falling. We have received 6 inches of beautiful white today. After a snow storm I feel encased in a calming quiet. I have been hoping, as I do every year, that we would have a white Christmas.

Nature follows my 5 step SPARK formula for organizing itself:

  1. Sort
  2. Purge
  3. Assign a Home
  4. Round up
  5. Keep it up
If nature can organize itself so well, you can also. Begin this January to encase yourself in the warm, quiet, peaceful calm that an orderly life brings.

Holiday Shopping Tips

I suggest you organize your holiday by planning then moving into a day each for your shopping and wrapping.

It is December 17th and I am going Christmas shopping today. In our family, we share Christmas wish lists and the shopping becomes a one day event rather than a week long excursion into the retail jungle. The lists are always longer than our gift budget, and some of us throw in a few surprises we found along the way, so we are each still surprised when we open our Christmas morning packages.

Today is my one day to shop. I have phoned my children and penciled in their list items. Today I shop. Tomorrow I wrap. I then have five days left to consider the real reason for the season.

Remember, organizing is not about perfection, it is about progression.  This Christmas SIMPLIFY the work and ENJOY the season!

Blogging Wisdom

Last night I finished up my new website, www.organize-utah.com by posting my 2008 before and after pictures.  My wonderful brother in law and family computer genius, Richard Winterton, helped me with some html code and a table; after which it was easy to load in the photos.

I want to thank my website designer and SEO specialist, Janet Meiners Thaeler, for the many hours she invested in my website. We bartered services. I think we both felt we came out ahead. I found Janet to be one of the nicest people I have had the privilege of knowing. She is wise, humble and very skilled. She will always be one of my favorite people!

I will post each Wednesday and share with you some of my favorite organizing insights for the week. The names and locations of my clients will be changed to protect the innocent. Return as often as you can and PLEASE comment on my posts.

I have a new website to begin the new year. I have enjoyed the process. I am grateful for good people, good informatoin, and good news. Today is a great day!
