Getting Started
Clutter-Free Gift Giving
Think back to last years Christmas gifts…Do you remember any gifts that you received?
Do you remember the gifts you gave? If so, I would guess they were the ones that were
from the heart and touched your soul. The newspapers tell us that over consumption has
ruined the economy. The holiday season is notorious for over consumption. Consider
going clutter-free this Christmas. Listed below are some of my favorite consumable gifts:
• A gift certificate of _____ hours service (this is my favorite gift to receive)
• Non-profit donation (this is my favorite gift to give)
• Gift cards for gas, phone minutes or groceries
• Tickets to an off-Broadway production or a local musical performance
• Lessons
• Gift Cards to a favorite restaurant
• Gift Certificate to a specialty shop related to a hobby
• Certificate for a pedicure, facial, massage, manicure
Rather than adding stress to a loved ones life by giving STUFF, think about giving
consumable items. Gifts that truly have them in mind!

7 Keys to Preparing for Holiday Guests
Hosting Holiday visitors is an opportunity to ensure that your friendship grows richer. Here are a few tips to help you entertain your guests with warmth and hospitality.
1. Allow your guests some privacy
2. Reserve some much needed privacy for yourself
3. Prepare the guest rooms by adding a few “Bed & Breakfast” special touches
4. Plan for only one meal together per day
5. Plan one “spend time together” activity per day
6. Have a list of “local fun activities” to entertain your guests
7. Add a few extra touches…Maybe a favorite novel or a few magazines wrapped in a ribbon and laying on their bed, or a little bowl of mints on their night stand
With a little planning and preparatory work you can become the perfect host. Keep things simple. Your guests will remember how they felt in your company much longer than they will remember what they did while with you. Take time to enjoy the relationship. Plan now to relish your moments together.
